Brent
My son Brent undertook the Illness Support Program offered by Paradise Kids.
The benefits of this program for Brent are that he became more outward-going, he gained a much better understanding of the chronic illness that he has and developed a strong rapport with Merope (our volunteer) which continues to this day.
He seems to have gained confidence and strength when visiting doctors and specialists and when he is required to undertake specific medical procedures, the medicos all comment “What a great patient he is”.
As a mother who has seen her son experience this program, I would not hesitate to recommend the program to any parents who find themselves in a similar situation.
