Providing Hospitality Through Times of Change

We like to think of the work of Paradise Kids as part of the hospitality industry. We care for children and their families during a hard part of their life journey. Those that come to Paradise Kids are dealing with experiences of loss and grief, marking a time of transition. In this situation, they benefit from support and careful listening. The provision of insight into the nature of the grief process and acknowledging the importance of dealing with the feelings involved can make a huge difference. Instead of the transition creating a downward spiral with long-term negative consequences, it becomes a time for personal growth and the development of life skills that will help in other times of transition.
 

When You Contact Us    

The first step of our process is an Information Session for Parents & Caregivers. The session provides a place for you to discuss with one of our Initial Support Officers what your needs are and the best way we can provide the help. We recommend that you write down any questions and concerns you may have beforehand so you can discuss these at the session. We do Information Sessions once a week, mainly in a small group setting with other parents and no children. After our discussion, your child is placed on a waiting list for the next available group in the following term. If our programs are not suitable, or your situation requires immediate attention, you may be referred to another onsite professional or another organisation. Program Fees & Placements  

Payment of fees is due two weeks before the term starts. Due to the demand for our programs, places often fill quickly. Your placement in our programs is only secure after payment of fees have been made. If you pay for a program but do not attend, no refund will be given. Cancellations made prior to the start of the program will be assessed and refunded at the discretion of management. All of our programs are held over several weeks so it is important to attend all weeks. If two weeks or more are missed, the program may have to be re-taken to graduate at your own expense.
 

Your Privacy  

As Paradise Kids is an educational group program we do not keep transcripts for court or legal issues. Paradise Kids takes great care to ensure your privacy, we are well aware that there may be issues between parents and/or third parties and information is to be kept private and not be freely shared.
 

Food Allergies

During each group session, refreshments are provided for the children and adults. It is important to advise us if there are any food allergies or food restrictions present.
 

Our Volunteers    

Paradise Kids volunteers are specially trained and thoroughly checked before being allowed to work with children. Our programs are conducted in a group environment and supervision is constant. All our volunteers receive comprehensive training with a focus on children and grief provided by Paradise Kids.
